French: Weather and The Calendar by A. Bree Stillings

Step 1Class discussion with students

Getting Started

This lesson is for beginning French learners to learn how to get along in France. They will be applying vocabulary to give the date and the day of the week and to talk about the weather.

Opening Discussion

Review numbers with students. Call out imaginary phone numbers while students write the digits on a scrap piece of paper. Review the correct digits to see how many students are proficient in their French numbers. Use this formative feedback to determine how much number review is necessary before continuing.

Step 2Pixton comic-making activities
Step 3Concluding discussion with students

Geography of France: Discuss the different geographical features of France and the typical weather patterns throughout the year for the regions. Have students compare the Mediterranean climates to the those in the north of France and to those found in the two different mountain regions, the Alps and the Pyrenees.
