Happy New Years. That's right 2017 is gone and 2018 is here. New Years mean everyone is making New Years resolutions. Now listen I have nothing against New Years resolutions. But, you need to make sure your resolutions are safe for you mentally and physically.

First of all, the one I hear the most is to get healthier/lose weight. Now getting healthy isn't a bad thing. But learn to do it properly. Make sure you are eating all the right foods. Don't just do any random diet, a lot of them can do more good then bad. Make sure to do research. Also for work out make sure to not overwork your body. Pace yourself.

For weight loss be sure to not stop eating. Eating disorders are more common then you think. Eat all 3 meals, just make them healthy. Not eating anything doesn't solve anything. Sure you might lose weight but it shrinks your stomach so when you eat again you will gain weight faster. Also without food you lose energy and have a hard time functioning. You can get very ill and even die from not eating enough and/or at all. Lose weight In a healthy way.

The new year resolutions of "being happier" can be so dangerous for your mental health. I'm not saying don't try to be happier, but if you make that your goal it most of the time does backfire. Make goals like cutting toxic people off, go to therapy, do things you love more, etc. Make your resolutions things that help/the steps, not the result. I know from experience that when you make happiness your resolution, it can make you more depressed when/if it doesn't workout.

Have a safe and healthy 2018! <3

New Year Resolutions are obtainable only if people make realistic goals. Even if you break that resolution, what's stopping you from trying again? :)
