Earth is a planet with a wide range of elements...

...And Carbon is the 12th most abundant element on earth.

It is a commonly-used element and makes up almost all living things on earth.

C

Carbon is a non-metallic chemical element, chemical symbol c, atomic number 6. It can exist in various isotopes, WHEREBY carbon-12 is the common AND STABLE ONE.

DIAMOND

GRAPHITE

Carbon occurs in four known allotropes, diamond, graphite, carbon black and fullerenes. Carbon forms more compounds than all other elements combined because several million carbon compounds are known.

COMMON ROCK

carbon occurs in Earth’s crust as carbonate rocks and the hydrocarbons in coal, petroleum and natural gas. The oceans contain large amounts of dissolved carbon dioxide and carbonates.

Wow. what a huge fish skeleton!

Carbon-14 dating is the method of determining the age of once-living material. It depends on the decay of the radioactive isotope carbon-14 to nitrogen.

i can know this fish died 1500 years ago with the help of carbon-14 dating!

The time the organism died can be estimated by measuring the radiocarbon in its remains. The method is a useful technique to date fossils from 500 to 50000 years old.

The end any similarities with people, living or dead, is purely concidental. this comic strip is done solely for the purpose of a chemistry project and is not meant for humour purposes. Copyright 2010 by jostake jon of sec 2-5 catholic high school.
