create a scene . Beginner tutorial.
The scenes in a comic are really important. helping to set the mood for your story and helping to drive your story along...
sniff sniff
The pre-made scenes are really useful if your just starting out, but lets face it, if you look at the majority of comics on Pixton ...
every man and his dog use the same old scenes and it all gets a bit...
Who me?!
Yawn..... BORING!!!!
eurgh!! HEY!
yelp!!
Yoink...!
So Anyway... If you want your comics to get noticed and get loads of hits, then your gonna have to start getting creative with your backgrounds and props...
whilst i go and change into something less...soggy, i'l tell you a few simple tips to get you started...
Ok, we are going to build a simple street scene.
select a rectangle from props and enlarge it by clicking on the little blue square here. drag it till its bigger than the panel.
like this.
But you should just be able to move the prop around with the mouse using click and drag to find an edge....
Remember you can use the zoom tool, here, to zoom in and out of the picture if you cant find the edge of the prop.
Find a corner of the prop and click on the little white circle and spin it till its like...
select the prop. Right click and select duplicate.
This! Congratulations, you've made a road!
you should end up with something looking like ...
apart from the new prop you just duplicated should be highlighted, instead of the old one....
This! No difference at all huh?
So , now change the colour of the new prop by using the colour chart here.
And send it back one layer using the
button
Drag your new prop about half a centimeter this way...
So now you should have something that looks like this.
You should end up with something looking like ...
Congratulations! You've made a kerb!
To make the pavement, do the whole process again, but drag your prop a bit furthar and send it back two layers.
This!
add another rectangle from props. Dont twist it round though. Just make it a bit bigger and change its colour to green.
Send it to the back with the
button
Push it up slightly, so it meets the corner of your road.
change the colour of your background with the colour chart here.
Nice one! Now you have A road, a field and a horizon!
Now we get to put some detail in the scene.
Select the city skyline from props and shrink it to about this size, using the little blue square
then, right click the object and duplicate it.
put it in place and send it to the back using the
send it to the back.
button
Use the silouette button, here.
change the colour of a few of the props
add grass, bushes and trees from props.
Add some people...
Remix this tutorial if you like so you can pull it apart and see how it works...
